CHERUB: The Fall

For this blogpost, I will be talking about the I believe seventh (I have terrible memory) book of the CHERUB series. For a quick refresher, CHERUB is a British organization that sends children on missions to break down terrorists and or guys who get in a boat load of trouble. The key is; nobody would suspect that children are undercover agents, acting like regular kids, aside from their crazy combat training. These CHERUB agents are similar to World War Two's "Henderson Boys" who were French kids who would do secret raiding attacks on German camps in France, and they wouldn't get in trouble, just because they're kids! But now to the point of this book. Our main character, James Adams, is sent on a mission in a corrupt Russian city named Aero City, owned by dictator type dude who runs the local plane producing plant, and he basically owns the whole city. When something goes wrong while he is stationed there, when his "parents" who are MI5 agents, (The British's version of our CIA), are killed, James is left in Russia to fend for himself. Luckily, finds an American CIA agent stationed there on a mission to help him get out of Russia. When James returns to the CHERUB campus, he is put on trial for potentially killing the MI5 agents, when we know, as readers, that he didn't. James is not allowed on any missions, and if the British Intelligence find him guilty, he will be expelled from CHERUB and forced to live in an orphanage. James is sent on little on campus missions to train trainees, and life is miserable. One, all of his friends think he killed the MI5 agents, and two, he has to put up with tons of schoolwork. But when James comes in contact with the training instructor, he tells James that James's legal controller, a man named Ewart, might be setting him up for money. This upsets James, because Ewart was a trusted friend of his. So James breaks into the control building on campus and goes through Ewart's files, finding that Ewart is basically trying to set him up, for money. This is how far I am, thanks for your time.

  1. sounds like a good series like the harry potter series...this book looks like a good one to read because it has a twist on the story that the character doesn't know.
