Thirteen Reasons Why
I just started reading a book called Thirteen Reasons Why, written by Jay Asher. So far, the main character, Clay Jensen, has recieved a package and inside it is a bunch of old tapes labeled 1-13. As he starts listening to them, he discovers that the person on the tapes is Hannah Baker, a girl at his school who had committed suicide one week earlier. On the tapes, she explains why they have been sent to him, and he discovers that he isn't the only one on the tapes. The reason that the tapes had been sent to him was because he was one of the thirteen people who she believes caused her to commit suicide. Also included in the package was a map of the town, with red stars on them, and as he listens to the tapes, she refers to the places on the map and goes there to try and get a feel of what Hannah went through. Where I am right now in the book is just after the cheer leaders Oh My Dollar Valentine survey, which they use to get money to go to cheer camp. And when Hannah went to go see who was on her list with people that the cheerleaders would "suit her", she gets a call from one of the guys on the tape, Marcus. He tells her that she is the number one person that he is compatible with on her list, and they agree to meet up for a date at Rosie's diner the next night.
