The book I'm reading is called Lone Surviver. It is by Marcus Luttrel. He grew up in texas, and had a intense father who made sure they could swim well. He also took a corse from a neighbor that prepared him to be a navy seal. Then, when he was old enough, he set off to boot camp. There it was freezing cold and he was not used to the cold because he lived in texas. After he passed that he went through the first fazes of seal training. They had to do a very hard physical test, and then they went into the water and had to swim with ropes around his wrists and feet. Also they had to learn new ways to swim, and then do four mile long runs in the beach. if the instructor thought they weren't doing them well enough, they would have to do push ups or roll in the sand and jump into the freezing ocean. After that they had to learn to control and paddle inflatable boats. They had to paddle them against the surf, flip them over, and they come back in to shore. Then they did a half a mile run with them. They also had to do high ropes and rope bridges.

  1. Stu I read this book too, it is great and absolutely mind blowing how courageous all the SEALs are. It is sad, but it is good to know they died doing an amazing service for our country. I can only imagine the honor involved with being a Navy SEAL, it would be a truly amazing way to live.
