The Maze Runner

I started a new book this weekend called The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I'm a little bit more than half way through and it’s an amazing book. It’s about this boy named Thomas who wakes up in the Glade with no memory. He soon finds out about life in the Glade. Him, and all the other boys living there are surrounded by huge walls. There are different entrances into a giant maze. These entrances close every night and open again in the morning. Most of the boys in the Glade have spent their whole new lives trying to figure a way out. One job in the Glade is being a Runner. A runner runs throughout the maze looking for ways out and exits. But soon after Thomas’ arrival things start changing. A girl arrives at the Glade in a coma with a piece of paper saying “She’s the last one. Ever.” And after that their mysterious suppliers stop sending food, kids, and supplies. Thomas feels as though he has a connection with this unknown female, but he cannot quite place it. Life as they once new it in the Glade is changing. The doors stop closing, and sun goes away, and this girl, Teresa, finally wakes up from her coma. Every night from then on the dreaded monsters called Grievers come and take one kid. Can Thomas put a stop to this? He might just be the only one, and he’ll do whatever it takes. So far this has been a great book, a little creepy, but good. I recommend it to people who like books like the Hunger Games
