Man vs. Beast
For this post, I am posting about the new book I started literally this afternoon, a book with the name Man Vs. Beast. This is the sixth book of the CHERUB series, and I must say, the first five pages were enough to reel me in easily. It starts off with the story of a boy named Andy, living with his brother and his mom in a poor suburb. His mom works three jobs, and one of them includes working at an animal lab, to test products on animals. But unfortunately, this is her only option to work at, for the other jobs, she isn't qualified for. Andy is a unorganized sort of slob, which is kind of like me, while his brother is a straight A organized dude, like some other people I know. Then, one day, their mother was walking to her car when she was spray painted on her eyes, blinding her for life. The suspect are men who are like PETA, but a more radical and responsive version of them. These men attacked Andy's mom because her job at the animal lab, so they basically hated her. This really set up what the story was going to be about. The way that it said what was going to happen before it went to the main character, James, really made me want to read on and see how James would react to his potential mission, probably entering the PETA thing, and cracking it down, one by one. I'm very excited to keep reading.
