Revolution

Although I have just recently finished Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly, what happens half way and through the end of the book is quite interesting. Andi has just been brought to the top of a hill by the Sacre-Coeur to watch the sunset with Virgil, the guy she likes. After coming home and seeing Virgil hug another girl after their romantic night together Andi is now continuously having suicidal thoughts and cannot stand the thought of living anymore. She heads to the Eiffel tower. As she makes her way to the ticket counter she is caught in the act by Virgil. I really like the way that the author builds suspense since as a reader we already know that Andi has some mental challenges. Donnelly doesn't extend the suspense too long that we get bored but long enough that by the time we find out what happens we are still extremely excited. This is at least what I thought as I read it.

  1. I am still reading my third book for this quarters Independent reading called the Gates of Rome. The two boys Marcus and Gaius have just learned that only Marcus the true son of their father will inherit the property they live on when they are grown. Gaius is deeply saddened by this. He had always thought that the two would share the property when they were old enough to do so. Neither one is very happy about it but Marcus is not as disheartened. Their mentor/servant was the one who told them this news and I think in the end it will be the thing that breaks apart these two great friends and brothers. Now they have a bigger problem to deal with though, Sutonius is more mad than ever because they have had their revenge on him the built a trap for him and he fell right into it. Literally it was a giant hole in the ground that Marcus stayed up all night t dig. When he was trying to get out the two boys stamped on his fingers and eventually ran off to safety. This book has been exciting right from the start and I’m really starting to get into it
