I am currently reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I am really enjoying reading this book. For those readers who can’t stand slow starting books this is for you. The book was already into the main plot before the 50-page mark. In the story the two main characters are currently Katniss and Peeta, they have both been chosen to participate in the “Hunger Games”, this is where 24 kids are put in a giant area and are to fight to the death. The winner gets to go back home and live an easy life while the losers are obviously dead. Katniss has displayed some great braveness so far. When they were choosing the tributes (the kids chosen to be in the games) Prim who is Katniss’ sister was chosen. Katniss steps up and volunteers to take her spot. There is already a major conflict in the book. Peeta has given Katniss two loaves of bread to feed her deprived family. Katniss feels very grateful but cannot really thank him. The two are going into the games where they are to kill everyone including their same district tribute, Katniss has decided that this will be to hard for her so she is going to let someone else kill him first. I am thinking that it will come down to the two of them but I can’t really tell yet.

  1. Edmund, I have also read the hunger games. It is a very good book and you're right, it does get into the plot very quickly. Trust me, the ending is amazing and I believe this is a trilogy and the 2nd and 3rd books are just as amazing.
